Insulation is the most cost-effective way to reduce carbon emissions. As the industrial sector collectively works to reduce carbon emissions, our Certified Insulation Energy Appraisers can review a facility’s current insulation shortcomings and provide customers with the optimal insulation thickness for the areas they review, along with projected energy and cost savings.
In addition to reducing carbon emissions and cost, insulation improves the efficiency of systems and equipment which contributes to extending the lifespan of the equipment. A reduction of ambient noise, as well as a reduction in ambient temperatures, are also common benefits of insulation, subsequently lowering the risk of hearing loss and burns
Insulation Energy Appraisal Process
The walkthrough: During the walkthrough we inspect areas that have missing or damaged insulation while also looking for under-insulated areas. We use equipment to obtain temperature and quantity measurements.
The report: A final report with insulation upgrade recommendations and the cost to perform the upgrades are submitted after the facility walkthrough. This report is based on information provided by the customer, observations and quantities from the site walkthrough, and calculations from 3E Plus® software.
The final report will provide the following information:
- Energy Savings – BTU/yr
- Cost Savings – $/yr
- Environmental Savings – CO2/yr
- Estimated cost of the insulation upgrades
- Estimated payback period
