Workforce Development

At Brown & Root we realize an employee’s skill development and training are essential to success and, by extension, to our growth as a company. We understand and appreciate that skilled employees have increased success, safety, and performance. Training extends from what is required for entry-level positions through the development of journey-level skills and into assessments, certifications, leadership, supervisor training, and beyond. 

Craft Training 

Brown & Root is accredited through the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) to provide certified training and assessments to its employees and sub-contractor employees. These programs are administered under a nationally recognized set of standards, accepted by the industrial construction and pipeline industries and by the Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training (BAT).

Through NCCER training curriculum provided on site or through local training partners, eligible Brown & Root employees receive formal craft training at no cost through a reimbursement process.

Brown & Root has the experience and capability to run DOL Registered Apprenticeship Programs in any state to support the needs of a project.  

Education Assistance 

We provide educational opportunities that enable employees to improve their skills and/or knowledge outside the scope of standard on-the-job informal training through the Education Assistance Program.
