Our team at Brown and Root believes the future of our industry depends on the next generation. It’s our responsibility to guide them toward it. That’s why we were proud to participate in the “Journey to Industry” event in New Orleans, where we connected with nearly 200 tenth graders from across the region. These students are at the beginning of their career paths, and we’re here to show them that meaningful, hands-on work in the trades is not only possible, it’s powerful.
A Career You Can Be Proud Of
Not everyone is meant to sit behind a desk all day. Some are meant to build. To lead. To solve problems in the field. Whether it’s pipefitting, welding or site management, there are countless opportunities in this industry for those willing to learn and work hard. Many of our own leaders started with minimal experience, just like these students, and worked their way up through training, grit and determination.
Closing the Talent Gap, One Student at a Time
Our industry is facing a real challenge: a growing gap in skilled labor. With an aging workforce, we must bring in fresh energy and talent. Events like this help students see the value in skilled trades and understand that college isn’t the only path to success. It’s about making a living—and a life—they can be proud of.
At Brown & Root, we’re not just talking about workforce development. We’re living it. We commit to walking alongside the next generation every step of the way.
